- seriously stop getting upset about this...

There is something that was brought up that annoyed me. Please stop moaning about the maths the kids learn. They use calculators only when the maths cannot be done without one, or similar tool... Not because they cannot do arithmetic.

My generation used calculators to a point, and so does this one. The generation before me used a slide rule for the same purpose. The only difference is, it would take longer. You still can't do the maths without it.

There are zero schools out there teaching kids to use a calculator to do basic arithmetic. Most kids won't even see one until they're in secondary school. That is when your arithmetic skills are moulded, at primary age.

My son is about to hit secondary, while I am back at uni learning higher maths. His grasp of arithmetic, geometry, algebra and probability are way past what I remember covering at primary level.

Also if you are a young person and offended by this, lighten the fuck up. It's a joke.Mar 20, 2014 - roflmao XDMar 30, 2014
