We share a lot of the same feelings +Sonali Dalal
Agreed FB is a weird mix. I handle it by a family and friends private page. My public page, like everywhere else, is Gazzaroonii and for photography only.
Instagram is just a travelogue for me all great food and locations. Designed to make family, friends and followers jealous :)
I love Ello but it's slowness is painful. They're improving all the time so I'm hopeful it will improve. Good performance costs money and I'm not sure their business plan can support them. For now I'm hopeful they make it and I like the artist community.
I still love Google for interaction and community but it's frankly a shite place to showcase photography. It's disorganized and disappointing. It worked well when it was integrated with Picasa, then some idiot broke it ruining many man months of work and integration with Adobe Lightroom. It was a really ridiculous move that I hope someone reverses with whatever Google Photo's turns out to be.
I get innovation leads to change but if the invocation is crap, it's crap. Cars have four wheels. We've tried 3 and 6 but 4 just works. Albums and portfolios work. It's universally understood and universally accepted. Everything else is just a 3 wheel tip over or a 6 wheel, over engineered dumb ass idea.
IMHO. ;) +Alex Lapidus
how about you? Are you investing time converting albums of thousands of posts to collections, one post at a time?
