Maagaya Pickle -

Fenugreek i.e Methi seed's powder has a peculiar smell and is slightly bitter too. But when pickled with sour mangoes, the bitterness goes away and have a very nice taste.

As children we must have consumed this pickle with rice and curd, so many times!

Sometimes this pickle remains in stock, even after the new mangoes have arrived. Mother used to store one bottle to make it aged beyond a year. With this aged Maagaya Pickle she used to make Maagaya Perugupachadi, which used be a dip for Idlis too!!
