Recommending this week's Sound of Cinema on +BBC Radio 3 purely because I got a mention. But it's well worth a listen for all the fantastic movie music too.

Shame they didn't play one or two of the listener suggestions, such as the Goldsmith score for The Mummy. I've already sent in my suggestion for the upcoming Goldsmith episode (the opening of Chinatown, naturally - is there a more perfect two minutes of music in the history of film music?)

In my first review in ages and ages, I've taken a look back at a personal favourite of mine, and one that will soon be showing in the BFI's Sci-Fi: Days of Fear and Wonder season - classic SF thriller THE DAY THE EARTH CAUGHT FIRE.
