In rapidly ageing Japan, more people are dying alone and unnoticed. Looser family bonds play a role in older people’s isolation.

Trying the new #Hyperlapse app from, er, microsoft. This is Jersey City on a wintry day, hyperlapsed to 4 times the original speed.

Pretty decent, once you know this is not merely fastforwarding a video.

the pristine state. I was watching a violinist bow intensely and I had this thought: I probably have as many brain cells devoted to my text editor as he does to playing his chosen instrument. Is it outlandish to imagine that an MRI of his brain during a difficult solo wouldn't look much ...

Just started the journey beyond the SLR world.

With the kid, it had become difficult to carry around the weight of a 5D and the lenses. Photography had become a chore, instead of fun.

Enter Fuji and its latest in x100 series : X100T.

After 3 days of playing with it, I have forgotten 5D. Fuji produces creamy photographs that barely needs retouching.

Yes, a fixed 35mm does impose few limitations, compared to all the lenses I had, but it liberates you in another way - you don't think about which lens to carry.

And now I know - 35mm is perfect for walking around the street. Its also great for the portrait. And macros is great too.

Until I go for another wildlife trip, I am set.

Here are few photographs from the test clicks.
