+Joe Avery  Wish I could say the same!  Open source, with all of it's drawbacks, has won me over.  Needing viable CAD and CAM at the moment.

a quick search shows ~168 compatible memory modules on Amazon.  DDR3L, 204-pin so-dimm, 16GB or less.

here's a good set that will work:

I hate the fact that you can not now preview pics in the new files app in Chrome OS.The little round circles don't help. This needs to be addressed in future.

It's now possible to make Facebook Video Calls on a Chromebook out of the box, no plugin download or workaround needed.

Can you use a USB CD/DVD Burner/Player in Chrome OS?

+Gary Smiley I think the reference is to the fact that instead of watching DVDs from a DVD player, you can watch them using the Chromecast to stream local or online files to your TV. Still doesn't address the issue of needing to burn DVDs, but I guess the future is uploading and sharing online for that instead of burning. It's what I do now with videos of my kids that in the "old" days, say 5 years ago, I would have burned to DVD. Easier to find online than looking through a stack of (poorly labelled) DVDs and no need to backup either.

Will this work in Chrome OS?
A new plug-in from Microsoft lets you make Skype video and voice calls worldwide. Here's how to set it up in just a few steps. Read this article by Iyaz Akhtar on CNET.
