Relying on a unique provider is a trickier proposition

Yikes! DBA(s!) for 3 dbs?  Heck, 2 of us take care of 30+ Oracle and 350+ MSSQL.  I'm in the wrong job!...
MInd you, we're lucky I never allowed RAC to get a foot in here: got enough problems as is!  About to go 12c, no plugs anywhere!
