Sounds like a story from the Onion.
More than two dozen churches around the world have installed a facial-recognition system that monitors which members of the flock have actually shown up

Neat project and very interesting paint technology.
Bare Conductive recently developed a new digital musical instrument accessible to everyone, including those with physical disabilities.

I would love to get my hands on one of those.  Before I taught technology to students who were blind, I taught music.  Would love to have them try this out.

Two mapmakers made the place up. It wasn't real. Then, oddly, it popped into being. I am not making this up. It happened. Then it un-happened.

We have 3 eyas (baby hawks) in a nest just outside our yard. This is the best shot I got holding my phone up to my binoculars.

Yay!
After a successful launch into orbit aboard a United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket out of Cape Canaveral, The Planetary Society’s LightSail™ spacecraft went silent after two days of communications. The solar sailing spacecraft test mission, a precursor to a 2016 mission, has now resumed contact after a suspected software glitch affected communications.

We're doomed...
Grass plants can bind, uptake and transport infectious prions, according to researchers. Prions are the protein-based infectious agents responsible for a group of diseases called transmissible spongiform encephalopathy, which includes bovine spongiform encephalopathy (mad cow disease) in cattle, scrapie in sheep, variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease in humans and chronic wasting disease (CWD) in deer, elk and moose. All are fatal brain diseases with...

I love this picture and this is a cool story.
The world wide web can be a wonderful and weird place, because that's how we humans are. This is the story of how an innocent family photo turned into a celebrated Internet icon, and eventually ended up saving a life. Eight years ago, Justin and Laney Griner of Jacksonville, Florida gave birth to a beautiful…

Excellent food and service at a great price. We ordered hummus with pita as a starter and split one of their huge wraps; we both had plenty. It was good and good for us.

We had a great time. The line was long when we left after lunch. I recommend you get there early on weekends.

Wow, great service and competitive prices too. Amy was super helpful. I'm nearly sixty but have never (to my recollection) had anyone advice me on what shoes to buy. I mostly bought shoes online or walked in a store and told them what I wanted. Amy carefully measured my feet seated and standing, then watched me walk barefooted. Then she recommended several shoes and patiently worked with me while I tried them all. I am very pleased with the service, selection, and prices.
