An interesting and clever move of the Chinese government. If that is rolled out on the whole country and maybe expanded to residential internet lines, it might deter citizens to even try to use VPNs to circumvent the Chinese GFW. Now, with the Paris attacks, the Chinese government is trying to push forward their agenda to further restrict internet access to the outside world.
People who had downloaded foreign messaging services and other software were said to be targeted, as part of a new measure in the country’s fractious western territory.
