I've really been enjoying reading "The Morning Paper" summaries of CS papers right in my inbox.  The summaries are great too, in that they give you enough detail to decide if you should read the rest of the paper.
an interesting/influential/important paper from the world of CS every weekday morning, as selected by Adrian Colyer

How do you code review?

I’ve started implementing code review before commit/push on my team. We theoretically had a code review system in place before this, but it went something like this: Write code Commit code Push code Roll a d20 If die came up greater than 2,... | gabriel guzman | Svbtle

While shopping around for a small form factor PC, I came across the Intel NUC. It was the machine our IT department had decided to use to drive all the 50" TV’s that they had put up all over the office. I was initially drawn to its tiny... | gabriel guzman | Svbtle

Online LaTeX collaborative editor.  COOL!
Online LaTeX editor for collaborative editing, great for Maths or Sciences. You don't need to install LaTeX so it's great for beginners too.

Neat... different white noise sounds to help you concentrate, or relax.
Noisli is a fantastic background noise and color generator ideal for working and relaxing. Plus Text Editor for distraction-free writing.

A guide to understanding us engineers.

[edit: I forgot to add an important one:
Working as intended = Reality is wrong, and has to be fixed to match the output of the code]

I paid cash for an Aquaovo filter (yes, it was at a sample sale, and yes... I paid for a 'marred' version) back in November... that's 7 months ago by my count. Customer service is virtually nil, and when I do talk to people over there it's always the same story: "Yeah... it's on a boat from China" well, last time I checked, it doesn't take 7 months for a boat to get to Canada from China. Their filters are beautiful, but so far the purchase experience has been awful. I hope those of you who pay the full $900.00 get treated better.
