Turns out Amazon with their dual HA VPN tunnel config uses IPSec ESP-AES-128 while we had been expecting 256 in our deployment. Having not dealt with AWS and it not being on our end, I was unaware.
TLDR - if you deal with AWS VPN tunnels to ASA by chance, remember P2 AES is 128. It will save you a bit of trouble. Also only use a single entry in the extended permits as Amazon has hard limits.
I got the on site contact to fix with his iPhone and the FortiExplorer app. Had him plug in with his charger cable and guided him through it.
I enjoy lots of things about Google Plus, and use it overwhelmingly for tech-based social networking, but these types of threads with the trolling and bashing OS's just makes me want to do evil things.
