Happy New Year!
I created a gallery of 10 images that mostly reflect my work over this past year. We traveled a lot in 2017 in the USA and visited 11 states including Texas. This is the last image of the year. It was taken at Brazos Bend State Park in Texas a few weeks ago. Check out the gallery here:

American alligator (Alligator mississippiensis) at Brazos Bend State Park in Texas

My favorite park in Texas is finally open again after being devastated by Hurricane Harvey and the subsequent flooding in August. The park workers did a fantastic job and the area is as beautiful as it was before the flood. This photo was taken of a swimming gator in the New Horseshoe Lake.

Eastern chipmunk (Tamias striatus) at Assabet River National Wildlife Refuge in Massachusetts

A few weeks ago I visited New England. One of the best places I found was the Assabet River National Wildlife Refuge in Massachusetts. In this refuge I encountered a few Eastern chipmunks. Chipmunks are probably my favorite animals in North America. I photographed them a lot while living in Upstate New York and it was great to see them again. I decided to take a picture of this small rodent so I scouted a little in the woods to find one in a right place and I think I did. :)

Baby Kemp’s Ridley Sea Turtle (Lepidochelys kempii) at Padre Island National Seashore in Texas

Kemp’s ridley is the rarest species of sea turtle and is critically endangered. Each year, wildlife officials try to find the nests and move them to an incubation facility to increase the number of eggs that hatch. Once the baby turtles emerged from the egg, hatchlings are released to the wild.

My latest article has been published in the Spring Issue of Madártávlat magazine. It’s about Wisdom, the oldest known bird of the world and the life history of the Laysan-albatross. Wisdom lives on the Midway atoll and at 66 years old, she just hatched another chick.

The Canon EOS 620 was one of the first EOS cameras. I’ve always wanted to try an early EOS model and because this year Canon celebrates the 30th anniversary of the EOS System, I thought it’s a good time to buy one. I got mine on eBay for $20. Check out my blog for more info:
