Update: everything's back to normal. To edit your Google+ photos in the browser, just open them in the lightbox, and click the "Edit" button. Thanks again for your patience and feedback throughout.

-------

We've received reports about our desktop photo editing tools, in which the edit button may not be available to customize your images. Our team is aware of the issue, and we're working to bring back this capability as soon as possible. Rich photo editing remains available in the Google+ apps for both Android and iOS.

Thanks so much for your patience.

Thanks so much for your great work... Appreciated :)
Big Hugs!!!

Yea, been missing that. ;)
Figured you were on it, as per usual.

It's been out since September 1st, four days and counting.
Probably happened when they upgraded access for Google+ apps for Android and iOS, disabling Windows and OSX, though why they'd disable OSX and Windows is a mystery...

Four days... I could go without sleep for about that many days, but without photo editing is really pushing it. :P  Glad the Google+ team is on this one.

+Google+ Photos just taking an opportunity to ask... What about the inability to edit images uploaded in full resolution? Picnik or whatever you call it used to resize the picture if it's larger than 2048px, even after the upload of larger files became available on G+. Will it be fixed as well?

Pl made easy to upload good.

Thanks, glad you're on it. I was wondering whether I was missing something obvious :) Good luck!

Glad I found this community and the update. Hoping it's resolved soon; I feel lost without the Edit function :-(

I found the edit option still available on the mobile app. Its a little more of a pain but at least I could crop my fantasy football line up, lol

Finally I've found the information! I was worried about it.

I have an art show in approx. 4 weeks, PLEASE hurry, or at least give us an ETA on it being back up and running?

I hope this is fixed soon. I have adobe photoshop but this is much easier than that.

hope this gets fixed soon, use it a lot.

thanks.

is it getting fixed soon? i use it a lot and need it NOW

I still don't have the edit option back but auto-enhance stays on even though it has been disabled in my settings. So will I ever get my edit option now that it's "fixed"?

Newest "glitch"...when I try to edit, it says I can only do so in Chrome! (I use FireFox)

I'm in Chrome and though I've been seeing the "edit" button since it returned, the new addition of Snapseed features have resulted in an error messaging saying G+ can't open editor. I've updated Chrome and even rebooted my PC.

Edit button isn't working on all Samsung Chromebooks running on ARM processors as far as I know too.

It's not working anymore. Could you please fix it? That'd be great. ^_^

Only works if you use Chrome.
Plus measurements (inches/pixels/picas/etc) are no longer part of the formatting

I do have Chrome, I just got it now only for this purpose, and it still is not working.

A month later and there still doesn't appear to be a fix for the missing edit button. (Yes, I am in Chrome.)

I hate this new version. Where's the piknik like one? this one is so confusing and frustrating!

I have chrome and the photo editing still won't load

Not available for android. At least in my Acer Liquid C1 Intel phone. Push edit button, and tadaaa, google+ force close. If I use old G+ built in in Acer, straight force close when opening G+ photo.

man, what happened to the stickers and other functions?  i don't like that those things are no longer available.
