“I would have lost heart, unless I had believed
That I would see the goodness of the Lord
In the land of the living.”

Bijay watched his parents struggle to provide, and worried about his family. Bijay noticed some of his friends who ate good food, wore new clothes to school and studied with new school materials. The sharp contrast between his family and these other families made Bijay wonder when he would be the boy happily going to school with a full stomach and nice clothes.

Is following Christ an honour or a sacrifice?

“If a commission by an earthly king is considered a[n] honour, how can a commission by a Heavenly King be considered a sacrifice?” —David Livingstone

Pakshi set out on an arduous journey with one thing in mind: displaying Christ’s love. Her destination was a remote village in the mountains. The dangers of the wild did not deter her from remaining steadfast, but would the people she’d meet receive her?

This cute girl looks ready for the cold the day this picture was taken. In her village, most children roam the streets and play in the dirt rather than going to school.

Last year, to help children like her and their families during the cold, 170,000+ blankets were distributed! And 82,000 children throughout Asia are now enrolled in Bridge of Hope, empowering them through education, free medical care and a healthy meal each day.

FaithKids Children's Ministries has now started their THIRD myGFA fundraising campaign! This year, these kids from New York are raising money each week to provide Christmas gifts—a clean water filter, radio and a water buffalo!—to bless families on the other side of the world.

On January 28, 2016, a group of GFA-supported Sisters of Compassion, specialized women missionaries, visited a leprosy colony to minister to those affected by this disease. They shared from God’s Word, prayed for the patients, and gave them gifts of food and soap as a token of love.

One woman, 71-year-old Charvi (not pictured), said, “Since our legs were amputated, no one loves us or touches us, and we are in a hopeless condition. But when [these sisters] started the ministry in our colony, almost every day they come to our home and help us, like cleaning our wounds, houses and clothes. Moreover, they touch and hug us lovingly. We feel like we are not lepers anymore.”

Currently, 44 colonies of leprosy patients are receiving love and medical attention through GFA-supported workers.

What are you praying for today?

Colossians 1:9-12 says,
“For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light.”

Kanal worked any manual labor job he could find to support his wife and three young kids, yet his family barely made it through each month. But when Kanal received a little piglet as a Christmas gift in 2012, it was just the beginning of how God would provide for his family—and how God would enable Kanal to be a blessing to others, too!
