Whenever I play with just a bass player, it is particularly hard. Without a chordal instrument, the lead instrument has to explore all the chordal possibilities one note at a time. I particularly enjoy playing this way, because it is very challenging.
Here Doc and I play a standard "Summertime" . I have to admit I did steal a single lick from Stan Getz, because it's awesome--- it's the one that rests on the really low note. In fact, he was the inspiration not only to record this song, but inspired my sax playing altogether.
The tune was written by Gershwin for his creation, Porgy and Bess.
Hope you enjoy the #music
