"Science" and "research" is unfortunately starting to become a watered down by the internet.

Our advice for BS detection, if they can't explain it in a simple concise way, they're more then likely BS'ing.

The "Jar of Training"

Most know what the "Jar of Life" is (if not see the video).

In short, we all have a finite time, if we focus on the small things it'll take away from the more important aspects of time management/life.

When it comes to exercise and dieting, people tend to focus on all the small details that won't make a big impact in the grand scheme of things.

- "How long should I rest?" - just get to the gym and train consistently, do that then focus on the smaller details.

- "What type of diet should I do" - just start on something, everyone knows how to eat clean, not many execute it. Over time you'll find what works for you but only through executing.

Focus on the big impact- train, diet, sleep, and hydrate. Then you can start to make smaller changes but remember that consistency is key, that's the big impact.

The best athletes are the ones that SHOW UP every day. They take action, they do the things no one else wants to do. Not arranging the workout, practice, training, etc... around when they feel like it.

Athletic endeavors are prioritized FIRST, not well I want to hang out with my buddies, then I'll show up.

Lots of "Fitness Guru's" showing some hate toward foam rolling, "activation", and band traction stretching.

From a coaching perspective, we don't care. If you feel better foam rolling & using band to stretch- go for it, if you don't no big deal.

Similar to when a former Yankee's S&C coach wanted Pettitte to take off his belt while squatting. Pettitte wasn't comfortable with it but conceded and hurt his back.

Lesson: Good coaches know when to pick their battles, if it does no harm why complain?

Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez, two of the best at their game, letting coaches COACH their kids. Who would've thought?

No huffing and puffing about game time, no yelling at their kids about errors, just being supportive, good natured parents.

Despite the dance dance revolution training YouTubers say you should be doing, they've never played professionally, they're not coaches. Let the coaches do their job and parents you do yours - support your kid, be positive, and let the kids have FUN!

Toshiki Yamamato BSQ 260KG x 2.

Toshiki clearly has incredible leg strength but got to love those positions 🔥. Nice smooth decent, doesn’t dive bomb into the hole, and maintains good speed out of the hole.

We’re not big fans of grinding out reps, in the very rare occasion for specific athletes maybe but definitely not for athletes where the barbell is not their sport. Instead focus on generating good speed and maintaining position, save yourself for the rest of the week, rest of the training, and for weightlifters - the lifts.
