Castles, roman churches, picturesque villages with impossibly narrow streets.
Snow covered picks, twisted roads, long days, empty trails.
Also known as May in Spain.
Did we mention wine already?
You can now tell Furkot to filter stops based on the stop tag. This is an advanced feature, so make sure you switch an advanced mode first. Tag your stops with whatever make sense in the context of the trip: fuel, food, parks, views etc. And switch on the 'Only with selected tags' in the Filter menu.
Not only does it let you quickly display a subset of stops, and answer burning questions like "how far apart are my food stops", but it is also a gateway to some serious route wizardry. For example you can design a plan B between any 2 stops - as long as you give them the same tag.
We are pretty sure you'll find some unexpected usage. Just be gentle, make sure you make a duplicate of your stop to have something to get back to. And remember that undo is your friend. Make us know what works here, and what we can improve upon.
Both things made us envious at first, but then we got to work.
Trip tags are now more useful: you can click on them to jump to the tagged trips. And you can hide map thumbnails to squeeze more trips on a single screen.
And bonus: tags work on your phone, which hopefully means that your thumbs can be put to a more productive things than scrolling.
Happy 4th to all Furkot nomads: those who brag, and those who don't ;-)
But it's always nice to be namechecked in Wall Street Journal
And a quick reminder. You can use 'along the road' search filter to make Furkot display motels 1/5/20 miles away from your planned route. May come handy if you try to stay faithful to a single brand (points!) and don't want to get out of your way to find it.
Well, now you are not restricted to the hotels. Based on your trip settings Furkot will also automatically locate campgrounds, hostels, chain hotels, and apartments.
And let's not forget those are just suggestions. As you tinker with your trip and add your stops they will get recalculated, moved or disappeared depending on the duration and position of the stops that you added.
Always wanted to travel across US but were not sure if you have enough time for that?
Did you try to figure out how long it takes to drive from Yosemite to Yellowstone or from Lisbon to Rome?
Did you wonder what is the best place to find lodging on the way?
Start clicking on the map. Choose your destination and Furkot figures out how long it will take you to get there. Set limits on the travel time so none of your sightseeing has to be done under moonlight (unless of course that's what you want). Let Furkot know how long you are planning to stay in one place and watch it recommend the best place to spend the night. Allow Furkot to fill the details of the hotel reservation for you on a booking service of your choice.
