I need people to game with. None of my gaming friends play SCL yet... I'm causal so only in here and there. I pay on steam.

Also I run a TS server we can use. Comment on this thread and let's get a good group going of people who can just do quick drop in games!

A close friend of mine and their family need help rebuilding after a storm on the island of Vanuatu. They lost a good deal of their crops and must do some rebuilding of their homes. Please take some time and donate what you can to help.
My partner Jim is from the islands of Vanuatu. Many have heard our story, but the condenced version is as follows. While I was a sailor on a tall ship, I met and fell in love with a man and his beautiful welcoming country. I jumped ship to live on Jim's island, Malekula. That was seven years ago....

So, a comparison between my two razors.

The Renren with the light strop was my first razor. This being my first I didn't really know what to expect. So I shaved with it and started to learn. After a few weeks I thought I would look into honing it because I was having issues with shaving my upper lip and chin. After some research I figured out it might be the razor. The whole kit (razor, strop, brush, bowl, and soap) cost about $50. This was an inexpensive razor but a good one to learn what I want. I also ended up picking up some lather from the art of shaving at the mall here in town.

The Ralf Aust Solingen with 3" Red Latigo strop from Straight razor designs was my next purchase. It cost me about about $150. So a bit more expensive but you notice the difference. It shaves much more smooth and is noticeably sharper. And the strop is wide enough that it covers the razor so I don't have to do an X pattern. My lesson is that it is worth it to have a really good razor.

Now I'm on to learning my face and his to shave it. It's like learning a new skill. You have to keep up with it and try to figure out what works best for you. I never used to think about how my facial hair grows and what angles to shave in. It's interesting. And more so it's kind of relaxing and you end up in almost a meditative focus when shaving. It's really a treat. I really like shaving now.

So that's my experience with straight razor shaving and maybe a little of why I bother for those of you who are wondering.

So, I've been shaving with a straight razor for about 2 weeks now. I could use some help.

1: how do I keep my moles? I gave 2 that sick out. They are circled in the picture. I keep cutting them.
2: I am having problems getting a close shave on my upper lip and chin. (green arrows in picture.) It's like the razor won't cut the hair. I'm guessing I need to hone the blade. My wife got me a cheap starter blade... So that could be part of it.

+Chase Nunes I'm looking at setting up a minecraft server for a few friends and their kids. I've been looking around to see what I can find about loading up a Linux minecraft server.

I saw a few "non mojang" servers out there and that's what it sounds like you run. I don't have a need for claims or anything as its not going to be published.

So... Your pointers and ideas? I like the idea of a resources map... So I might need an alternate server setup.

Go to the mine craft site and down load the server version. Anything else is likely a virus.
Runs on Linux or windows, just use a spare machine you have laying around. Adding claims and other "stuff" is just a plugin, a file you down load to whatever directory it tells you to. Restart server and it's working. Ok, rarely that easy, but that is the gist.

Didn't realize +Ronald Jenkees was on Google play music! Do happy it is tough!

First heard him on +Jupiter Broadcasting and loved the music there. Now I can share some Jenkees with the kids for background noise and our "dance nights" that mostly include me spinning around flying the kids. Lol but it's fun!

I remember back when I made the switch to cut-throat shaving. While I was waiting for my first razor, I still used a Gillette Fusion plus a Body Shop synthetic brush and their Maca Root shaving cream.

Also, I started paying attention to passes and hair growth direction. I even went back to Palmolive sensitive canned gel, because I emptied the Maca Root within a month.

And my shaves were decent. Which to me was telling, in that preparation and attention were, for me, the main reasons for subpar shaves. Much more so than the products used, although, as your experience indicates, quality gear does make a difference, once you have an idea what you're doing.

Cut-throat shaving brought enjoyment into it, elevating it from pleasant to almost downright fun, with constant improvement being a welcome challenge.

Thank you for your perspective, +Fritz Freund. And a nice setup there.

So , a few weeks ago I started shaving with a razor. Leslie got me a starter razor. It was a Renren. I was having issues getting the shave I wanted so I took to the forums and found out that this was a really cheap razor that won't really hold an edge and might not be shave ready when I got it.
The forums I ended up on all recommended SRD... Finding out that it meant straight razor designs. So I took a look to see what I could find. Well I found a nice razor/strop combo that a ton of people recommended. So I put in my order (upgrading to a 3" strop) and asked them if they could rush it a bit so I can take it with me on vacation Thursday. Got a shipped email this morning and with 2 day shopping it should be here just in time!

Thank you +Straight Razor Designs - Imperial Shaving

We have straight razors, safety razors, double edge razors, skin care products, shaving brushes, shaving soaps, creams and more.

Awesome. Wow... Had the cubano, so many ingredients you would think it would blend and not taste that good, but you would be wrong. You know when you hit the sausage or hot dog or avocado. Awesome flavor. Our server was a nice guy, funny, and knew what he was selling!

Food is awesome. But it is a hole in the wall place. So don't expect some fancy dining room. And they make the pasta when you order them, they take some time. But it's worth it.

I have read that many people think the portions are small..that's because they are doing it wrong. You order about 2 "tapas"per person. And set it up family style. Everyone gets to try each thing they want. The server will bring out a few at a time. My wife, who is very picky, tried everything we ordered and liked all of it. But wasn't find of the figs and liked the lamb meatballs the last of what we ordered, but she ate them said they were ok. I like many types of food and I thought everything we ordered was delicious. The server we had was awesome. He was very informative about the wines and the food. Made some jokes and was funny. If we were talking we wouldn't even realize he refilled our water. We never had to ask for him or track him down for something. He even recommended to keep the bowl with that had the meatballs to use the sauce for dipping our bread in...that was good! I am happy my wife told me to make a reservation though. The person in front of us had to sit at the bar because they were full with reservations. It's a small dining room, so make a reservation. I left a message for a reservation the day of and they called me back to confirm and we got the time we wanted. And on a Saturday night no less. So it's not too bad. I would recommend this place to just about anyone.
