From the FNS Newsroom...
Burt Reynolds passed way today at the age of 82.

I think of Deliverance, Smokey & The Bandit, and a permanent favorite, The Longest Yard... and I was thoroughly engrossed and entertained every single time.

I've got another confession to make: I'm your fool. Everyone's got their chains to break holdin' you. Were you born to resist or be abused? Is someone getting the best of you?

Are you gone and onto someone new? I needed somewhere to hang my head without your noose. You gave me something that I didn't have but had no use
I was too weak to give in, too strong to lose. My heart is under arrest again, bbt I break loose. My head is giving me life or death... But I can't choose.

I swear I'll never give in. I refuse! Is someone getting the best of you?

Has someone taken your faith? It's real, the pain you feel. You trust, you must confess. Is someone getting the best of you?

Has someone taken your faith? It's real, the pain you feel. The life, the love you'd die to heal. The hope that starts the broken hearts... You trust...

Confess.

Is someone getting the best of you?

I've got another confession my friend: I'm no fool. I'm getting tired of starting again somewhere new. Were you born to resist or be abused? I swear I'll never give in! I refuse!

Somebody needs to hear and read this right now. I know I'm one. Sometimes, just having a song "sent out" to you matters, regardless of what it is. I'm sending this one, with the words up there, to anyone who needs them...

Don't let them get the upper hand.... don't let then them get the better of you. You're stronger than that. Don't let let them the the best of you.

"'Something From Nothing' was inspired by Buddy Guy's story of moving up from the South, not a button to his name, moving to Chicago as a young blues guy, meeting Muddy Waters right off the bat, being the young buck in town and making his way in the blues scene there and becoming a legend after walking into town without shit."

When I saw Mr. Guy in concert last year (item crossed off Bucket List), he mentioned this and how touching and meaningful it was

This first song from the epic Sonic Highways is the final Foo of the day. I have to same something for next week (or perhaps later tonight?)

Dave and the Foos have always had a special relationship. After Dave L. had his heart surgery, he was asked by a producer who should appear on the "return show". Dave was like, "I dunno'. How about the Foo Fighters?" The producer expressed serious doubt.

A couple of days later, the producer comes in and told Dave that she had found out that FF was on tour in South America, but she had made a call or two anyway to try and arrange a future date. Basically, When Dave G. and the boys heard what was up, the cancelled the tour and got on a plane.

At that show, Dave requested this song because of how much it meant to him, especially during his recovery. A few years later, it was the Foo Fighters that again performed this song... in tuxedos... as the honored last performer on the show right after Dave L. said "Good Night" for the final time.

The clip below is from a little known series of concerts in the Sullivan Theater that the Foo Fighters jumped all over to be a part of.

Friendship. It's a thing.
