Any guess as to how many possible unique combinations there are in a 12-character set of numbers or letters?

Before divulging the shocking answer, let me just say that I've added a new Combinations Calculator to the site that will handle up to 6 numbers, letters, or a combination of both. The new calculator was born from the following request:

"I want the 24 combinations for the numbers 9567. I would like the numbers in a list collated with the lowest to the highest. Hope you can direct me to the right calculator."

Not sure if anyone else will find the calculator useful, but I just couldn't resist the challenge of seeing if I could create it.

Simply plug in up to 6 alpha or numeric characters (1234, ABCD, or A12B) and the calculator will generate a list of all possible unique combinations -- sorted to your preference.

So, in the case of how many possible unique combinations there are in a 12-character string, if you gave the following answer, congratulations!

That helps to explain why I had to limit the characters to only 6.

As always, please use the expandable feedback form beneath the calculator to let me know if you discover any issues or have any suggestions for improvements.

Thank you!

New! Downloadable PDF Calculator

Over the years I've received countless requests for downloadable versions of certain calculators, but the time and expense involved in creating stand-alone software for both Windows and Mac is cost prohibitive for a mom-and-pop site like mine.

Of course, I knew I could create downloadable Excel spreadsheets to accommodate those requests, but that would require the users to purchase Excel (a complicated and expensive spreadsheet software program) just to use a single calculator. So I've always kept my eyes open for an affordable solution that wouldn't require the user to purchase any complicated software.

About a month ago I stumbled across an article explaining how it's possible to make PDF forms interactive. The cool thing about an interactive PDF form is that the only requirement is Adobe Reader, which is not only free, but many already it have installed on their computer.

After several of weeks of tackling the learning curve, I was able to create the first downloadable PDF calculator. It's called the "Weekly Time Sheet PDF Calculator".

As will likely be the case with all PDF calculators, I am offering 2 versions:

1. Free Demo: Version with limited features, offered primarily so you can make sure the Premium calculator will work on your computer/laptop.

2. Paid Premium: If the Demo works on your system and you wish to take advantage of its extra features, I invite you to purchase the Premium version. This version comes with a 30-day money back guarantee, plus free upgrades for 1-year.

If all goes well with this first PDF calculator, I hope to create PDF versions of all of the calculators that I've received download requests for.

Thank you,

Report says governments are losing out on 190 billion in taxes due to offshore tax havens used by the super rich. Report also says the wealth of the richest 62 grew by 44% since 2010, while the poorest 3.5 billion fell 41%? But do you know what shocks me more than those two stated statistics? The fact that the world's population does nothing about it.
The wealthiest 62 people now own as much as half the world's population, some 3.5 billion people, as the super-rich have grown richer and the poor poorer, an international charity said on Monday.

Are You a Tipped Employee?

If so, then I think you're to love the new "Claimed Tips" feature I just added to the popular Paycheck Calculator. It will allow you to play with different amounts and percentages to see how each will effect your net pay.

Of interest to all: I have also added a printer friendly report. Printing out the dated report will help you adjust future entries so the estimated net pay will more closely match the actual.

Have a great weekend!

Want to know how many class days are left in the school year?

New School Calendar Calculator creates an interactive calendar wherein you can exclude days based on your own school's academic calendar.

Plus, print out a #schoolcalendar that lists the number of school days left in each date's cell!
New Student Loan Repayment Calculator created with the guidance from a Financial Aid Director of a large public university!

Unlike other online student loan calculators that only handle 1 loan at a time, this new Student Loan Repayment Calculator will handle up to 24 separate loans (up to 4 loans per year for up to 6 years).

The new calculator will accommodate subsidized, unsubsidized, PLUS, and private loans, and allows you to play with the payment amounts to see how much interest you could save by paying more than the minimums.

And for unsubsidized loans you can even choose to begin making principal and interest payments right away, or just interest payments, or have the accruing interest added to the loan balance (interest capitalization).

Finally, you can either view and print a combined loan payment schedule for all loans, or a loan payment schedule for each individual loan.

As always, please use the expandable feedback form beneath the calculator to let me know if you discover any issues and/or have any suggestions for improvements.

First Calculator App Published to App Stores

For those of you who've asked for downloadable calculator apps for your mobile devices, I have some great news!

I recently partnered with an app developer to help me convert my online calculators into downloadable apps for Android, iPhone, and iPad devices!

And I am thrilled to announce that we just published the first of many calculator apps to the app stores.

We started with the most popular calculator, the Reverse Due Date (Conception Date) Calculator, and will continue publishing calculator apps based on requests and calculator popularity.

I hope you like them!

Custom Keypads Added to Mobile Versions

I recently received several complaints from mobile users stating they could not enter a decimal point into the numeric entry fields.

Well, after researching the issue, it turns out that some makes of Android phones don't include a decimal point in their numeric keypad. What?!

I'm sorry, but I can't even begin to imagine why a phone maker would leave a decimal point out of their numeric keypad. All I can say is, thank goodness that decision-maker doesn't work in a nuclear weapons factory … or we'd all be dead. ;-)

In any case, since this is not the fault of the Android phone owners, I decided to take the time to create and install a custom keypad to all numeric fields in all 236 mobile calculators.

The project took a full two weeks to complete, so I hope everyone now has the ability to enter a decimal point into a numeric field (tap the grid icon next to the field if your phone's keypad doesn't include a decimal point).

Please let me know if you discover any issues with the new keypads, or if failed to include a decimal point in a field that you feel should have one.

Thank you!

P.S. I you visit a mobile calculator that you've visited in the past, I suggest you refresh/reload the page to make sure you are using the updated version instead of an older version that may be stored in your web browser software.

Wow! I see it's been while since I've posted. Sorry about that (been busy working on a third version of the website).

In any case, I would like to announce a new calculator. It's #235, and called the Biweekly Extra Mortgage Payment Calculator.

In a nutshell, this calculator will estimate how much time and interest you will save if you switch from making monthly mortgage payments, to making 1/2 of your payment -- plus an extra amount -- every two weeks.

Also includes a side-by-side time-frame and interest cost payoff comparison, plus a printer friendly report with optional biweekly amortization schedule.

Please let me know if you discover any issues or if you have any suggestions for improving it.

Thank you!

220+ cool online calculators for learning, discovering, and decision making.

My name is Dan Peterson and I'm the owner and author of (the man behind the Calcy mask).

I've been building interactive calculators for for commercial websites since 1997.

After 13 years of building calculators for others based on their preferences and specifications (like forcing an artist to paint by the numbers), I decided I would rather create calculators based on my own creative self-expression and my own values.

That was September of 2010 and I have since created 222 calculators for

So far the calculators span 16 categories: cars, budgeting, business, college, credit cards, debt, income, investing, loans, mortgage, personal finance, retirement, math, weight-loss, conversions, and date/time -- with more categories to come.

My original goal was to create 200 calculators, but I can see now that number will turn out to be a lot higher as I'm continually discovering new ideas for more calculators.
