"There have been a growing number of studies that suggest that marijuana use in emerging adults is associated with differences in brain structure and cognitive abilities," said Gruber, also the director of Cognitive and Clinical Neuroimaging Core at McLean Hospital outside Boston. "I'm not saying (pot smoking) is analogous to shooting heroin or cocaine, but it's also not quite the benign substance people thought it was."
Using marijuana a few times a week is enough to make changes in critical brain structures, according to a new study published today in The Journal of Neuroscience.

Creator of “For Brown Girls” Blog,  Karyn Washington Commits Suicide
Karyn Washington, founder of the “For Brown Girls” blog, has died of an apparent suicide. The influential blogger was only 22. Her blog celebrated self-love, particularly among dark-skinned women.

She also launched the #DarkSkinRedLip project after rapper A$AP Rocky suggested that darker-skinned women should avoid red lips.

While working earnestly to empower women of all races and colors, She was also dealing with personal struggles. According to a friend, she had been battling depression and was also finding it hard to deal with the loss of her mother.

I am glad Napier spoke up! I couldn't believe it when I saw the interview clip on +The Daily Show. Top athletes shouldn't have to go without food (no one should go without food, really). Good that NCAA is taking action.

University of Connecticut guard Shabazz Napier told reporters during the NCAA tournament that he sometimes goes to bed hungry. Napier led the Huskies to their fourth NCAA title last week and was named the Most Outstanding Player of the tournament’s final weekend.

“There’s hungry nights when I’m not able to eat, but I still have to play up to my capabilities,” Napier said in March. “Sometimes it’s that way.”
