When we launched Project Loon in 2013 we hoped to answer a single question - could balloons be used to connect people to the Internet? Proving that this was possible in our New Zealand launch then led the team to start asking a much larger question - how can we make this work for everyone, no matter where they are in the world? How do you manufacture enough balloons to be able to provide coverage anywhere in the world and then launch them and control them so that there is always a balloon overhead to provide connection to the user on the ground?

In this latest video Project Lead Mike Cassidy offers a glimpse behind the scenes into how the Project Loon team have been tackling the challenges involved in moving from small scale, one-off launches and tests, to the scale and automation required to make balloon-powered Internet for all a reality.

Excellent are the balloons reusable? Security concerns can it be redirected by passing original command centre . Vulnerability assessment I hope is considered and optimized for truly amazing technology people

You can now sign up and use Google Domains in the US with no invite! The service is clean and has several neat features like support for dynamic DNS. I've also been impressed with how the team listens to feedback and responds. Check out the service!

And if you're outside the US, you can sign up for when Google Domains is available in more countries.

We’ve all been there — you’ve searched under your car seat, tossed around the sofa cushions and you still can’t find your phone. If you know where your computer is, you can now ask Google to find your Android phone from your desktop. If the pesky phone is hiding nearby, Google can ring it for you — or you can see it on the map if you, say, forgot it at the bar. Just make sure you’ve got the latest version of the Google app!

Suppose you have a Java app running on a bunch of autoscaled VMs, and you need to debug a rare bug. Manually ssh into each instance, restart the process under gdb, set watchpoints on all of them, sigh....no longer needed. On GCP, just use the cloud debugger, set a breakpoint, and the first time any of your VMs hits that line you get a snapshot with all local variables, stack trace, etc. Problem solved.
