picked up a bunch of mini's from a friend that is unloading some of his old 40k stuff ... and i liked the demon enough to go ahead and start on him ... will be the largest mini i have attempted to this day.

well a friend was getting rid of a lot of his unused warhammer 40k stuff ... picked up these guys along with about a dozen mostly full sprues for chaos and space marines for 35$ ... now i no longer need to make some obliterators ... will have to make a weapon or two but that is about it ...

question relating to this mini (and others i still have to build) ... i am accustomed to the smaller shoulder pads on normal space marines .. but the chaos ones seem to be a bit larger (with the extra rim and such) ... and makes it to where the backpack comes in contact with the shoulder pads ... am i just installing the arms to far back on the body? ...

on this one i ended up making a small spacer for the backpack so that the shoulder pads could not come in contact with it ... but not looking forward to having to do that with each of the mini's ... if i have to i will though...

It's a common problem, even regular Space Marines have it. Want to give an Ork Nob back details and shoulder pads? Best plan ahead!
It's a price we pay for such varied appearances, but it beats having a sea of identical minis.

+Mike Simeon i have tried dipping before ... i guess i am getting to much on them or not shaking them off enough afterwards .. so i switched back to ink wash with a brush.

+Ryan Usky i think with them it just depends on which will show it off more for the photo or drawing.

well i liked this guy so much i could not wait to get started on him .... going to take me a while as i am deciding on the color as i go ... right now just on the boils and exposed spots ... going to drybrush some dark red on once it dries into the same spots then a medium red and pink ... the skin i am undecided on at the moment if i want to do the tan / grey .. or green for the skin ...

i have this guy that i assembled about 5 years ago while dealing with the death of my mother .... since then he has been sitting in the box ... i am now thinking about going back to it and trying to detail and paint it more ... but i honestly do not know where to start on him ... maybe a base / display of sorts? .. and should i bother trying to take some of it back apart before painting and such? ...

+Winkstrs Workshop yeah this next weekend i am going to take some of the components of it apart .. and try just some lining and see how it looks then go from there ... i do not remember using any glue on it when i was putting it together but that was long enough ago that i could be mistaken.
