Introduction
I'm making web-applications using java. My hosting environment has been on our own servers (using vm-ware to host my virtual machines) but now I'm moving to the Cloud (and I prefer the Google App Engine).

"Using Java" to program for the web includes a need-to-know HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jsp, zul and some XML, SQL, GQL.

But back in the old days I had some years programming in Smalltalk (on a machine soo big I named it Obelix!)

I miss Smalltalk. I have been reading about Self and Beta. I had Simula at the university - so I am proud to say OO programming started in Norway ;-)

I have had my share of C and C++, but it all started with Basic - at punch cards! In my first job the programming language was Databus (looks like a mix of an assemply language and Basic to me)

The world of computers is getting fun again!
Using Smalltalk as my development tool decades ago - I had this feeling everything was going backward. I did not have the excitement everybody else expressed: I felt I had "been there - done that".

But now: with maturing browsers that adapts to all plattforms - and maturing online tools - and finally - with Smalltalk on its way back into the mainstream in the form of Dart - I see big changes in the near horizon ;-)

So I like to talk about languages, or frameworks - and development concepts and ... the future!
Bragging rights
The NetBlast CRM that I started to develop in 1999 is still the core of our business.

Paperspace is a new type of computer
Paperspace is a full computer you can access from any web browser - or use Paperweight:
A low-cost device designed specifically for accessing your paperspace computer in the cloud.

An alternative to https://desktop.onlive.com/ but will it be available in my country?

Når du vil ha et alternativ til Google søk
"Wolfram|Alpha introduces a fundamentally new way to get knowledge and answers—
not by searching the web, but by doing dynamic computations based on a vast collection of built-in data, algorithms, and methods"

hvorfor skulle google da bry seg om dine websider?

I must say Microsoft do impress on design. From the Mouse to the Surface and now this, the HoloLens. The Surface is getting there! This HoloLens may still have some time to market - but you have my attention Microsoft.

The prototype is amazing. It amplifies the special powers that Kinect introduced, using a small fraction of the energy. Project HoloLens’ key achievement—realistic holograms—works by tricking your brain into seeing light as matter.

Usikker. Vi er jo avhengig av gmail spesielt og google disk. Resten går vel bra. Hva med hjemmesiden. Burde den være lastet ned som en back-up?

I've been here at summer and now during winter. Sure, summer is better, but I just love the atmosphere.
