It's gonna be Legen…… (wait for it)…… dary!

Hey, want to meet some of the FoxyCart team? We're doing our first public hangout this Friday, 5/11/2012, 1pm CT. We'll hang for 30 minutes or so, talking Foxy and hearing from you! Ask questions, tell us what you think, discuss our 404 unicorn... we'll have a good time. Circle us now so you'll see the anouncement when we start it up. Click the link below to see the time in your timezone.

Packages: The Way Forward for PHP. What is a package? A package is a piece of reusable code that can be dropped into any application and be used without any tinkering to add functionality to that code...

For those too lazy to read: yes, there are less people alive now than the total of all that have lived and died in all human history. The ratio's dropped a lot in the last 30 years, though. An interesting question to ponder!
The population of the planet reached seven billion in October last year, according to the United Nations. But what's the figure for all those who have lived before us?

You're right, I goofed up the math: for a straight exponential curve f(x) is always greater than the integral from 0 to x of f(x). Human population growth seems to fit an exponential curve, but imagine widespread war, famine, or disease flattening off or dropping the floor out of the growth curve for a few years. Something that would eliminate say half of the population. It's conceptually possible that, in that terrible event, there would be fewer people living than the sum total of human history.

A good blog post.
Why am I a tool maker? Tuesday November 1st, 2011. If this was a vlog instead of a blog post then it'd start with the opening scene of 2001: A Space Odyssey with the apes shuffling around the Mono...

I need to watch this when I have time. Brilliant series by a brilliant and caring man.
This series of videos is based on Carl Sagan's Pale Blue Dot: A Vision of the Human Future in Space and Cosmos. Excerpts from the audiobook and documentary are edited together with pictures and videos...

FoxyCart originally shared:

While researching RESTful API best practices, we came across HTTP Status Cats. Thought it doesn't help with better understanding the full implications of HATEOAS, it does help with ... well, maybe not much, but it's pretty funny. Our current favorites are 405, 406, and 408.
