This is my preferred flight between YYZ<->SFO, and I'll likely be on it in August. Hmm.

A pretty cool video about our Flock3P launch from Bloomberg. I'm not in the video though I was standing behind the cameraman for a bit of it.

These two guys were good samaritan bystanders killed while trying to protect a couple women on public transit in Portland. Holding it together as a civilization depends in part on the willingness of everyday people to put themselves at risk to contain the dangerous. They are heros. It also hit me kind of hard because I was a bystander to a confrontation at a BART station recently that involved a knife and looked like it could escalate. One good fellow stepped in to try and de-escalate things till the police arrived, and I stayed within a few feet in case help was needed. Ultimately one of many confrontations that ends pretty harmlessly, but it is hard to know.

GDAL/OGR 2.2 released! Great work by Even and the whole current team. No contributions from me (except by proxy through Even).

I am seeking to fill a couple data pipeline engineer roles here at Planet. Image Processing, Python and GDAL are relevant skills. SF, Seattle or remote in USA or Canada are all acceptable. You would be working with me - whether that seems like a plus or not is up to you. The people below are coworkers, though not actually on the pipeline. I'm not sure how it picked this picture.

I wish I had joined in the women's march today in SF, but on my way home there was an extensive collection of signs from the march on display in the Civic Center BART station. While I'm ambivalent about some of the other protests against Trump, I think calling out and rejecting misogyny is very positive thing to do, and the great turn out all over the country drives the point home.
