#hiking 平林溪谷- (延乾坑湖溪)石梯嶺- 擎天崗
It was a fine sunny day in the morning, and the fcst also showed though cloudy at noon, the sun would show up in the afternoon. I was attempted by the sunshine and cool weather. The weather was gorgeous last weekend to this Monday, but I did not go anywhere due to knee pain. I really craved to go hiking aft the pain subsided.
However, the weather did not turn out as fcst, it was cloudy the whole afternoon, though sun did show its face few times briefly. It was cold and very strongly windy out of the woods. The coldest during my trip was only 10.4ºC.
There were so few hikers that I only ran into one at the entry of the trail and the other one on the way. The last 2.4km, I was hiking on the popular trail linking btw Fengguikou & Qingtiangang, but I did not see anyone else till close to Qingtiangang Gate (金包里大路城門).
It's my first time taking the trail leaving ravine up to Shiti Mt. Very steep leaving the ravine. Luckily, it's not long. The trail as the section in ravine is very primitive but it's still well maintained. Before long, I came to a dry ravine. The river bed is exposed, covered by various sizes of rocks. All the rocks are also covered by mosses. Looking from distance, it's like green velvet surface.
There was an interesting encounter, a muntjac, aka baking deer, which is also very first time that I witnessed one in Yangminshan National Park. A beautiful anecdote to this hiking trip.
