As a WhatsApp user in excess of 30 months, I've decided to quit using the service entirely and remove it from my devices.
I can vividly remember back in 2011 when just a few of my contacts also had WhatsApp. Alas, suddenly in 2014 it seemed that most of my contacts have WhatsApp.
I have made this decision to protect the privacy of my contacts from Facebook's machine. WhatsApp scans my contact list for other WhatsApp users. Consequently, contacts not on WhatsApp are also logged.
This poses severe privacy risks for my contacts. I have decided to broadcast this message to all of my WhatsApp contacts. Do not try to respond since by the time you would have read this, WhatsApp will be completely removed from ALL of my devices.
I will continue to use other messaging platforms including BBM (7B7B4A6F).
I really loved WhatsApp but this is the end of the road for me.
