Cleaning up the firewall and removing the remaining engine controls, fuel lines
I think I finally have this bird stripped down as far as I need to take it.  Now I can start rebuilding.  The first few pics are of the startlingly mediocre craftsmanship that continues to baffle me.  I guess some guys are cool with flying planes made with ...

Right Wing Cleanup
Right wing end is now cleaned up - literally.  In addition to straightening out the cut line, I gave the whole wing a bath.  The underside of the wing looked like it had never been washed.  A little Simple Green made it shiny and clean.  Duct tape is just t...

New Tail Wheel Spring
Picked up my Corvette C5 leaf spring tonight and promptly brought it home and went to work.  Cut the spring in half, sanded down the small end of it so it would fit into the tail wheel bracket and voila - easy breezy.  Tomorrow I'll do some more work on it ...

Race City Heating & Air responded very quickly. Nick Keziah replaced the capacitor on my air unit and had me running in no time. He also shared lots of tips regarding how to extend the life of these 16 y/o units. He really is about educated customers. Thanks Nick and Race City!
