Great blog post, +Frank Doorhof
. I do everything you talked about in my own workflow including calibrating my lenses (especially any I borrow or rent).
There is one thing I do in addition to checking the focus accuracy with a lens calibrator. When I get a new lens I sometimes have to create a lens profile for Lightroom 4. I've found that it really helps to take care of any geometric distortion and it also helps with vignetting and color fringing. It takes a while to do but it made a huge difference for me. Long story short - I try to take care of everything I can before I start taking shots that matter and that helps me minimize how much time I have to spend in post-production.
Thanks again for another great blog entry!
