Raccoons maybe come very aggressive when confronted in attics especially when there are young ones in the area. I was recently asked, how many times do I find Raccoons or other animals in a home or attic? When there is damage to the roof, gable, or soffit you are likely to find animals in the attic. We have seen squirrels, rats, birds, raccoons, possums and other animals in attics.
Raccoon roundworm encephalitis is a very serious (and potentially fatal) disease that requires a long recovery period. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, infected raccoons commonly shed millions of roundworm eggs each day in their feces. These eggs can survive for years under adverse conditions. You can become infected by breathing dust in enclosed spaces in which raccoons have been living, such as attics.
