Great story from a development/fundraising officer about how they've grown their donor retention rates from 29% to 43% in a few short years. #amazing

As we know, donor retention rates are in the tank ... so can content marketing help? I think so ...

What donors want vs. what they get from the nonprofit organizations they support. The real key to Donor Retention!

Fundraising ideas and NEW fundraising research just dropped.

Overall charitable giving grew 4.9% in 2013, while online giving grew 13.5%. The Charitable Giving Report reveals year-over-year changes in online and offline giving, by nonprofit size and sub-sector, so you can measure your organization’s performance against other nonprofits. It draws from The Blackbaud Index, which tracks more than $13 billion in U.S.-based charitable giving on a monthly basis.

Big ups to +Nancy Schwartz and all the other folks helping to bring attention to the poor #DonorRetention  rates! Check out how RESPECT is a key element of retaining your new donors.

I dig helping nonprofits and #NPTech folks get better w/ technology platforms, online fundraising and social media.
Introduction
Hi.

Thanks for stopping by. Hopefully the below bit of info. will help you get to know me better.

Currently, I'm a digital/online marketing strategist at Blackbaud, but I've spent the past eight years helping nonprofits be more effective online (fundraising, email communications, social media, technology solutions).

I've worked with a pretty diverse group of organizations including LIVESTRONG, United Methodist Church, American Heart Association, Family Life, Darkness to Light, Access Fund, University of Richmond, Big Brothers Big Sisters, ChildFund Int’l, InTouch Ministries, EQUIP, UJA-Federation of New York, North American Mission Board,  Heifer Int'l, University of Notre Dame, University of Richmond, and many more.

Oh, and I like to get out and speak once in a while. I've lead discussions, presented solo sessions and organized panels for NTC, SXSW, BBCon and numerous other conferences. Here's a few slide decks to give you and idea of what I generally speak about.

Lastly, I dig talking to interesting people about how they are changing the world. Check out a bunch of the interview's I've done (Beth Kanter, Chris Brogan,  Randi Zuckerberg, Geoff Livingston, Chris Noble and many more!).
