Here's why using 2-step verification is a good idea. It adds an extra layer of security to your Google Account by using your phone when you sign in from a new computer. In addition to your username and password, you'll enter a code that Google will send you via text or voice message. You can also use an app on your phone to generate the code. In order to compromise your account, a hacker would have to not only steal your password, but also get a hold of your phone. You're in much better shape with 2-step verification, just like the thousands who enroll each day. Learn more about the feature here: http://goo.gl/n0anp
Even if you're not ready to enable 2-step verification on your Account Settings page, it's a good idea to set a password that you don't use on other sites. Your Google Account is an important one!
