- This is BRILLIANT! I just wish you didn't have to be homeless to get one, because I want one. After WWII lots of prefab houses were put up quickly and although they were intended to be temporary, the residents loved them so much that many were still there decades later. The residents said they were 'so clean and warm', which tells you something about the state of older British housing. I have absolutely had it with historic properties, from now on I just want somewhere modern and minimalist.Sep 9, 2015
- I agree. I went to see it yesterday afternoon, it is indeed very nice. High quality low cost, but by no way cheaply done. Rent is £148/w., they expect people to stay 2-5 years while saving a deposit before they move. The real limitation is that it's really only a cluster of one person units (36 in the case of Mitcham - 17 from YMCA and 17 from the local authority -, +1 unit kept for some YMCA community management). But still, there could easily be one in every borough of the UK...Sep 10, 2015
