We will help you to retain your Natural Smile with Adin permanent Dental Implants - Taylor Street Dental

•  Have you been living in fear of losing one or more teeth in the near future?
•  Or have you perhaps recently lost a tooth due to injury or some dental problem?

If you have answered yes to any of the above you may be one of the people who are currently concerned that from now on you'll always have to worry about your ‘gappy’ smile and that other people may be noticing that you have lost a tooth.

No more worries – we have long-lasting Dental Implants at Taylor Street Dental

Teeth that look and function like the real thing - and all the freedom that you have ever dreamed of going with it – it can all be yours with ADIN dental implants by Taylor Street Dental in the North Western Suburbs of Sydney.

Dental implants have become the modern, long-lasting way to replace either a single or even multiple missing teeth. They have been engineered to look and behave like real teeth, giving you a natural smile that will last a long time and that in a way even takes care of itself. The greatest advantage? It will leave you free to live life to the full!

Have you been dreaming of biting into a juicy steak without a care in the world? Of cleaning and flossing your teeth as normal, as well as enjoying the confidence of knowing that your smile is completely your own?

Conventional bridges and crowns involve modifying the surrounding teeth. In contrast, tooth implants replace the root of the tooth with a metal root, using a simple technique that takes as little as one appointment. A crown is then attached to the implant.
The result? Teeth that will look and feel authentic for decades to come!

Why Use Dental Implants?
•  Aesthetics - teeth look healthy and natural
•  Replace just one tooth or a whole upper or lower arch
•  Immediate installation - a single tooth can be replaced in as little as an hour

What are the Benefits of a Dental Implant?
•  Improved appearance
•  A stronger and more secure option than any other alternative
•  Improved oral and general health
•  The closest replacement option to a natural tooth
•  Improved self-esteem and quality of life
•  Long-lasting tooth replacement solution

For dental implants to be effective, you need to have healthy gums and adequate bone to support the implant.

What is Pericoronitis? – Dentist West Pennant Hills

This term is normally used for describing a dental infection of the gum tissue around the crown or coronal portion of a wisdom tooth. “Peri” refers to around and “coron” refers to coronal or the top part of the tooth, normally visible above the gums. “Itis” refers to the swelling and inflammation of the gums or soft tissues surrounding the tooth.

It normally presents as discomfort or pain becoming worse over the course of a few days at the back part of the mouth where the wisdom teeth are. It may also be difficult to bit together or to chew your food due to swollen gum tissue. It is a condition that may recur every so often and generally gets worse every time, leading to more swelling, pain and feeling unwell.

What are the signs and symptoms of this dental infection?

•  Normally your wisdom tooth is only partly erupted or visible in the mouth

•  Inflamed, swollen gums around the wisdom tooth.

•  Gums are painful and angry red colour.

•  There may be bleeding and accompanying discharge from the area that smells really bad.

•  The swelling and inflammation may cause limited mouth opening due to trismus in the jaw muscles.
•  Normally only one side of the mouth is affected at any given time. It may cause some swollen, tender   glands, known as lymphadenopathy, in the neck area of the affected side.

What causes Pericoronitis?

Pericoronitis is caused by bacteria in the affected area. This infection can be made worse by:

•  Plaque build-up in the area.

•  Trauma caused by the opposing tooth biting onto the soft tissues around the tooth.

•  Other throat or mouth infections.

•  Food particles or foreign objects trapped under the gums causing more irritation and inflammation.

•  Impacted wisdom teeth

How is Pericoronitis treated?

Treatment depends on the severity of the symptoms, however the main aim is to eliminate the infection and removing the cause of the infection. At Taylor Street Dental we will look at all the possible causes of the infection and your dentist will select the best option for you, which may include any of the following dental treatment options:

• Antibiotics are utilized when there is a risk of the infection spreading  or in the case of the infection causing limited mouth opening which prevents access to the infected site. The most commonly antibiotics used by general dentists are Amoxicillin or Metronidazole, and your dentist will prescribe the antibiotic best suited to each individual.
