Never Do These 5 Things On Google+!Number 4 is especially timely...
Succeeding on social networks is dependent on a lot of factors. Not the least of which is understanding the often unspoken bylaws that may or may not be obvious to new users.
On Google+ I've found that there's really only five things you need to make sure you never ever do
. Read them all in the full blog post: http://dustn.ws/1vYqx3X
Ultimately what these things are tying to help you avoid is looking like you don't know what you're doing
or even worse, looking like a spammer
The former isn't so bad because Google+ is filled with people who love to help. The latter (looking like a spammer) can tarnish your reputation and be hard to recover from.
So if your goal is creating a highly engaged following and getting a better return on your Google+ efforts-- take these 5 things into consideration:
> No link dumping
> Mind community guidelines
> Don't blast the same message across multiple communities
> Avoid the "Google+ is dead" nonsense
> Never push your notifications on peopleWould you add anything to the list?+Heather Kraafter
has mentioned in another thread that she would add:
> Don't use the Hangouts as a cold calling service.
That's a pretty good one. What do you think? #googleplus #socialmedia
