Very clever and thought-provoking presentation from Sam Harris on Free Will. Time very well spent.

Thank you +Michael Schober for pointing me to it!

This is a subject I've been keen on for a while, so some of this was not entirely novel. But some of the interpretation was refreshingly surprising. The best example is on the topic of punishment for wrongdoing to society. Under this thought framework, danger avoidance and reformation are reasonable goals to aim for. Retribution is not at all. That actually gave me a lot of pause. There's a number of other consequences that arise from that model if one gives it sufficient thought.

Humourous as always, this one covers the hugely important topic of Government Surveilance and - dull as the subject may seem to many - this is one of the funniest ones yet.

Thanks +Héctor Urdiales Llorens for pointing me to this!

How dickish does it get? (And by that I mean I had already seen the piece!)

Short talk covering the purpose of mathematics. Hilarious too :)

Thanks +Łukasz Olejnik for pointing me to it.
With humor and charm, mathematician Eduardo Sáenz de Cabezón answers a question that’s wracked the brains of bored students the world over: What is math for? He shows the beauty of math as the backbone of science — and shows that theorems, not diamonds, are forever. In Spanish, with English subtitles.

This is a story about two roads — Should and Must. It’s a pep talk for anyone who’s chosen Should for far too long — mon…

Very interesting opinion on how ideas compete and cooperate for attention on the Internet. This is strangely reminiscent of Richard Dawkins' concept of meme from The Selfish Gene.

I'm afraid I only have 5 stars to give. Tried three different fondues in a large group, all of them were very good. Best of all was the house one, Chaesalp fondue. Very good and friendly service.

Kind and helpful staff, delicious and nicely prepared Experience burger, definitely exceeded my expectation. Also really liked the Andechs WeissbierHell the staff member recommended.
