Ruling the American Ruling Class, the Calvin Cycle. I. The Foundation

This brand new softcover third printing of my 1982 First Edition hardcover book by Springer-Verlag just appeared online, providing the foundation for this Google+ series on "Ruling the American Ruling Class, the Calvin Cycle."

The Calvin cycle, or dark photosynthesis, is the current rule of law for all federal funding of photosynthesis research in the United States, contrary to the entire bodies of publications in the permanent literature by me and Berkeley's Melvin Calvin, who denounced dark photosynthesis in his Nobel Lecture dating back to 1960.

How did photosynthesis in sunlight become a dark reaction, contrary to the original papers by the late Melvin Calvin and myself?  A partial answer to this question is given below, in Part X of this series.
https://plus.google.com/109932737010017838200/posts/Jsw9djSpSMA

The complete answer to this question must await the conclusion of this investigation, the progress of which is being reported on my LETTERS BLOG.

A year ago, a digital printing of the 1982 hard-cover book picture below was published online as one of 110,000 titles taken from Springer's selection of its best books dating from 1840s, available on SpringerLink, in print and online, to "make your book live forever."  Hopefully, it, the digital printing, costs less than the $129.00 it takes to purchase the softcover reprint.

This book is 32 years of age.  I gave It the title, "Light Reaction Path of Photosynthesis," to shock the conscience of the heads of university foundations of 1982, who would sponsor federally funded dark photosynthesis research programs, with knowledge of the fact that Melvin Calvin of Berkeley and I have published extensively in the permanent literature that photosynthesis, of course, does not occur in the dark.

Members of the American Ruling Class, these individuals, the heads of university foundations, pay the Calvin cycle insiders circle of public officials to sponsor dark photosynthesis research funding to defraud the United States Treasury.

"Light Reaction Path of Photosynthesis" was as a research monograph, a collection of then-current findings by the leading workers of 1982.  Research monographs, by their very nature, get outdated by the normal advances in research progress.  I know of few, if any, research monographs, 32-years old, see second and third printings of their First Editions.

All this that's happened to my 32-year old research monograph is good, because the same heads of university foundations, today, are still sponsoring federally funded dark photosynthesis research to defraud the United States Treasury.  My 32-year old First Edition book is seeing second and third printings, presumably, because little or no progress in photosynthesis research has been -- is capable of being -- made, despite the billions of federal tax dollars of funding, on account of the university foundations' sponsorship of the Calvin cycle as NSF's and DOE's peer-review standard for all photosynthesis research funding in this country.

Ruling the American Ruling Class. The Calvin Cycle. VII. Legacy for a future generation

We celebrate Lucia Night, our joyous annual Celebration of Angels after Margareta's Swedish background, on Thanksgiving Eve.  The picture below was one of this past Thanksgiving, 2014.  Our 6 granddaughters had just finished preparing for their respective roles as Lucia angels: (Front) Sophia, 8; Annika, 6; (Back) Chloe, 7; Annais, 5; Ella, 7; and Olivia, 11.

Olivia was born 12/21/03, the day U.S. District Judge Van Bokkelen accounted for the two Woodmar dockets.  See, 9/17/14 Post below, https://plus.google.com/109932737010017838200/posts/cQtn3n586Cc
A year later, in December of 2004, IRS SB/SE (Collections) Director Bobby L. Hunt began stealing my U.S. mail to further federal funding of dark photosynthesis research, the Calvin cycle.  To the six little girls pictured here, I offer a future of unfettered achievement, with the Calvin cycle but a fairy tale, unlikely fond memories of a distant past.

Ruling the American Ruling Class. The Calvin Cycle. IIX. My Discovery of the Calvin Cycle

This illustration shows the principals involved in Purdue Board's making of Berkeley Chemistry's Calvin cycle, peer-review standard for federal funding of dark photosynthesis research: From left, Melvin Calvin and Andrew Benson (1954);  the author (1959); and James Bassham.  See: "Fong Discovered the Calvin Cycle." http://photochemicaltheoryofphotosynthesis.blogspot.com/2010/02/how-author-francis-k-fong-discovered.html

On 9/5/14, I formulated the Calvin cycle as a fraudulent investment scheme, in which an insiders circle of bribe-recipient public officials pay bribe-giver investors dividends in RAP (Richard A. Posner) currency.  http://fongpublicationslist.blogspot.com/2014/09/transition-to-new-era-ii-insiders.html

Benson's May 1981 letter to me below shows the outcome of Berkeley Chemistry's intentional omission of Calvin's finding of the light reaction.  Benson was a co-author with Calvin and Bassham of a 1950 paper, in JACS, on the Berkeley group's proposal of a dark carbon cycle for photosynthesis.  Shortly after that paper was published, Dr. Benson left Berkeley for San Diego.  Shortly thereafter, the Berkeley group found that carbon reduction in photosynthesis was a light reaction, a finding that Calvin kept Benson in the dark.  See, Calvin,M. and Massini,P. Introduction
American physical chemist Francis K. Fong, Professor of Chemistry, Purdue University (1967-1988), and Chief Science Officer of NSFfunding.com (1999-present) presents here an auto-biographical sketch.  In work and play, he'd challenge the established view, and open up new directions to the displeasure of a great many authoritative figures in the respective fields.  He willed himself to becoming Ruler of the American Ruling Class. His Credo is the Law, although, in marrying his wife, Margareta -- back in 1963 -- he came close to becoming a criminal, a felon by the anti-miscegenation statutes of many Southern and a few Northern States.

Living the American Dream, Fong dreamed dreams of the origins of the American Constitution.  In those strange old days, our Founding Fathers made real his flights of fantasy.  Ruler of the American Ruling Class?  A madman's reveries?  Hardly.  Fong integrated them into the foundation of his Dream: Ours is a Government For the People and By the People; we, the People, are the Rulers.  Through the decades, in living the American Dream -- or, more appropriately, in enforcing the U.S. Internal Revenue Code at the behest of the U.S. President, Fong became Ruler of the ruling class of revenue officers, to make them law-abiding citizens like the rest of us.

NSFfunding.com is a registered U.S. Organization.  Its mission is to detect and bring to trial career government officials providing public services in furtherance of that species of Federal tax fraud known as the Calvin cycle (Ponzi). For related stories, see, following Posts Page.

Early Years.  Born 3/21/38 in Shanghai, China, Fong spent his childhood in the war-torn City of Shanghai and the British colonial island of Hong Kong. In 1956, he entered Princeton University as a Freshman.  There, in 1959, he graduated cum laude with an A.B. Degree, and was awarded the Sayre Fellowship as the only graduate from the 1995 Class to be admitted to Princeton's Graduate Program for study towards earning a Ph.D. Degree.  Thus in six years, from 1956-1962, he completed his formal education, having at age 24 earned an A.B. and Ph.D. Degrees in Chemistry under the tutelage of Sir Hugh Taylor, Paul Von Schleyer, and Charles Phelps Smyth.  In 1968,at the age of 30, he became the youngest full Professor of Chemistry in the history of Purdue University.

In 1962, Fong married an Ingrid Bergman look-alike he met in Princeton, Margareta Jansson of Stockholm, Sweden.  They have three children and six granddaughters. He attended schools in Shanghai and Hongkong, and graduated cum laude from Princeton University, A.B. (1959) and Ph.D. (1962) in chemistry. He began his professional career as a Member of Technical Staff at RCA Labs (1963-64) and North American Aviation Science Center (1964-68).  In 1968, he joined the chemistry faculty at Purdue University; and served on the Editorial Board of Chemical Physics (1982-89).  Backed by the three decades of academic work, Fong devotes the second half of his professional career to solving the Calvin cycle, a Ponzi scheme for federal funding of dark photosynthesis research.

The Calvin Cycle.  Fong formulated the economic model of the Calvin cycle, a federal tax Ponzi investment scheme, in which an insiders circle of bribe-recipient state and federal public officials pay dividends to bribe-giver investors, university foundations, in Richard A. Posner currency.  Funded, in part at least, by stolen moneys from U.S. Treasury, the RAP currency is paid in federal funding of fraudulent research programs sponsored by the university foundations, from which proceeds are paid to international money-laundering centers, of which that for Ukraine was reported 10/23/14 on Fong's LETTERS BLOG.  Fong's pursuit of the Calvin cycle Ponzi scheme dates back to his days as an undergraduate chemistry major at Princeton University.  There, in 1958-59, while researching for an undergraduate thesis, he discovered the Calvin cycle, Mother Nature's formula for doing chlorophyll photosynthesis in the light in the dark. (No, there are no typos in this sentence.)  NSFfunding.com In 2002, NSF Associate Inspector General Peggy Fischer requested from Fong a Synopsis of the Calvin cycle.  On 5/12/08, NSF rewrote its guideline for use of the rotating globe emblem by NSFfunding.com, and relinquished the URL, http://NSFfunding.com, to accept NSFfunding.com's registration request as a New Organization of the U.S National Science Foundation authorized by U.S. Treasury to investigate the Calvin cycle, bring to trial parties to the fraudulent investment scheme, and reconstitute the United States' funding of basic research in green plant photosynthesis.

Code § 7623 contract on record of Presidential appointment.  In 1995, President Clinton, by Fong's appointment as a non-career Federal officer, authorized Fong's Code § 7623 contract with the IRS to detect IRS career officers' theft with insiders state and federal public officials from the U.S. Treasury in furtherance of the Calvin cycle.

Community Evaluation.  In 1987-80, Fong formulated the non-cyclic light carbon path of photosynthesis, in support of Melvin Calvin's Nobel Lecture on his finding of the photosynthetic light reaction.  He demonstrated the in vitro chlorophyll water-splitting and carbon-reduction reactions, in support of Melvin Calvin's original papers on in vivo plant photosynthesis as a light reaction. His research monograph, "Light Reaction Path of Photosynthesis," Springer-Verlag, Series: Molecular Biology, Biochemistry and Biophysics Molekularbiologie, Biochemie und Biophysik, Vol. 35, is in its third (soft-cover) printing.

Academic Research  Fong did research in several fields: Dielectric relaxation of polar molecules in organic solvents; optical spectroscopy of rare earth doped laser materials; nonradiative relaxation; quantum statistical mechanical theory of rate processes; red-to-green upconversion optical spectroscopy; IR-to-visible upconversion for quantum-counting; and molecular mechanisms for green plant photosynthesis. At RCA Labs, he stabilized divalent dysprosium ions in crystals, an early red phosphor when the red in color television was orange.  At Purdue, his red-to-blue (upconversion) fluorescence studies using rare-earth doped crystals led him to discovering the chlorophyll water-splitting reaction using the far-red portion of solar radiation.  He and his associates were awarded basic patents, US 4022950 and US 4140591, for the chlorophyll photogalvanic conversion into electricity, evolution of hydrogen, and reduction of carbon dioxide to biomass.  Author, Artist  Fong published his work extensively in the permanent literature, and has published over 111 technical papers in peer-reviewed research journals. He is the author and editor of several research mongraphs. He is also an accomplished artist, having won major awards in local and nationally sponsored art competitions.  Examples of his oil paintings in one of the many collections are featured online.  His personal favorite is the late 2002 oil painting, Nightfall on Courthouse Square, completed on Christmas Eve of 2002.
Bragging rights
Fong is probably one of the best BJ players in the world. His principal hobby is gambling for profit. But that's only play. In 1976-79, Fong and his associates were the first, in the history of science, to demonstrate in vitro the chlorophyll photosynthesis reaction, in which the carbon dioxide and water from the air are combined to make organic fuels. But they are able to do this only in the light. In the dark photosynthesis does not occur, in vitro or in vivo.
