Reading is so essential in everyday life that a parents biggest wish is for their child to learn to read so that they can succeed in life... as a parent, you can help your child to begin that journey well before they ever reach the door of their kindergarten classroom.

But what about teaching differentiated motivation? #teaching   #education   #differentiation
I began my teaching career about twenty years ago, and in that time I have seen a great deal of change around the concept of differentiation.

A need for a critical perspective is easily argued in other disciplines such as the social sciences, and it should be just as worthy of consideration in mathematics because the discipline carries with it high levels of privilege and power.

Planning on teaching literature in high school? I suggest a brush up on literary pitfalls....and work on developing a sense of humor because sooner or later, a student, (usually a boy) will come upon one of the following words in some great work of literature:

Introduction

Franchesca Warren is the creator of The Educator's Room, where her focus is to show that the real experts in education are teachers. Using her experience in working in two urban school districts in roles ranging from Classroom Teacher to Instructional Coach, Franchesca is paving the way for teachers to "take the reigns" by influencing educational policy making and educational reform in the American public education system.

In February 2013, Franchesca decided that she wanted to use her voice of The Educator's Room as a vehicle to help teachers publish their own books and created the subset company, TER Publishing, LLC. Within one year the publishing side of The Educator's Room had published three books: Keep the Fire Burning: Avoiding Teacher Burnout, How to Finish the Test When Your Pencil Breaks and Behind the Desk: How I Survived My First Ten Years in Education to rave reviews.

An Instructional Coach, Teacher, freelance writer, wife and mom to three children, Franchesca's work has been featured on dozens of online and print publications, and she has handed over many nuggets of knowledge about what it means to be an educator in public education. On a weekly basis, The Educator's Room YouTube channel interviews educators from around the country to discuss issues impacting education.

In addition, Franchesca has has worked with brands such as Share My Lesson, Zoe's Kitchen, Cover Girl, Vanity Fair, Ringling Brothers, etc.

Her areas of expertise include (but are not limited to): workshops on social media, reading strategies, writing strategies, incorporating technology in the classroom, using data to really know your students, writing, teaching, literacy consulting, brand promotion, public speaking, audience engagement and writing curriculum.
