Kathy, thank you for inviting us. Looks like a timely invitation because we just launched Part 2 of our new eBook, "Your Job Search is a Bare Knuckle Fight. The FPC Recruiters' Guide to Winning!" Follow the link to read about it and access it for free. When you download it, you also get access to Part 1. The advice is pretty hard hitting. It's from the recruiter's perspective about what works and what doesn't. Thanks for sharing with anyone who can use new advice about getting hired. We'd also really appreciate your comments.

We've just launched Part 2 of our new eBook, "Your #JobSearch   is a Bare Knuckle Fight. The FPC Recruiters' Guide to Winning." This second half explains why you have to be your own recruiter and how to do it, and also shares some hard-hitting #InterviewTips . When you download the Bare Knuckle guide - for free - you'll also get access to Part 1, in case you haven't yet read it.

All in all the eBook is intended to tell you what no one has ever told you about what it takes to get a job in today's tough environment. It's blunt and you may not even want to hear some of the #jobsearchadvice we share from the perspective of successful executive recruiters, but it's what you need to know if you're sick of being unemployed and want to take back control of your career -- or #changecareers . Please share this with everyone you know who needs to jump start a job search or who is exploring new career options.

We recently read an intriguing article in Investor's Business Daily that underscored for us why today's job market makes a #recruitingfranchise   a solid #careeropportunity . Believe it or not,  we're in a tight labor market and that's always good for the recruiting profession. Read our take on the IBD article and the article in its entirety which we've republished with permission. http://www.fpcfranchise.com/blog/bid/344021/why-todays-job-market-makes-a-recruiting-franchise-a-solid-career-opportunity

We're glad to have joined Career + Connections. To introduce ourselves...We're Executive Recruiters - FPC - primarily in manufacturing and industry. We have also been franchising our proven executive recruiting process for the past 40 years. We award a limited number of franchises each year when there's a really good fit, so we're not here to sell franchises. We're happy to share our recruiting experience with our fellow members and to answer questions about career and job search topics that are posed to us and to contribute to the conversation in comments. Of course, if anyone is interested in learning about how to leverage their career experience by recruiting in their industry we're happy to discuss. We post content related to careers on a regular basis and invite you to visit our G+ page and add us to your circles.

Some people exploring #franchiseownership are concerned that a #franchise may be too 'cookie cutter' and not allow for enough personalization. We've just posted about individualizing a franchise unit by building your personal brand. Please comment if this is a concern that you've experienced. Also please share some ways that you've built your personal brand in the context of #franchising .

How are you finding the time to be active on social media? We're sharing a link to a post by Gary Vaynerchuk on why small business is losing in social media. As small businesses here on G+ and probably other social media sites, too - we may be ahead of the game, but to be successful today we all have to follow his advice on putting in the time to market our companies. There are links in the article to some of his videos on related topics. One of them is about building a personal brand. As a franchise company, we just posted on our G+ page on the subject of personal branding as a way to differentiate a franchise business to be less 'cookie cutter'. The same advice applies to any small business. If you'd like our perspective please visit our page. Hope you get a lot out of the Gary Vaynerchuk article too. For those who don't know, he used social media to build a Mom and Pop wine business into a major enterprise  through a video blog called Wine Library TV.
