If Congress is not able to come to agreement about the fiscal cliff and our nation's budget by Dec. 31, some tax rates could go up to levels not seen since the late 1970s and early 1980s:

I wouldn't be surprised if Congress didn't just let us go over the cliff. That way they'll get the tax increases, but everyone can just blame the opposing party. All the revenue, none of the responsibility.
The revenue is a drop in the bucket to wash down a pissants pizza.  It is about control.
