Five new "residents" at The Fountains at Granite City. Mom is teaching the babies swimming lessons in our fountain. All the resident love to watch the fun in the fountain. Or as Sue said, “this really quacks me up”.

Hilda, Rose and Barb attended an informative session on Living With Arthritis presented by RN Kimberly from Anderson Hospital. As informative as the discussion was, it was Hilda’s comment that broke up the group “ Please tell me how do I get rid of that mean old Arthur Ritis!”

Ruth and Tracy are enjoying cold watermelon on The Fountains at Granite City front porch on this hot August afternoon. Not sure but there may have watermelons growing in the flower beds before winter.

June enjoyed a great Civil War presentation at The Fountains by Historian Dennis Mooney. A major portion of Dennis’ discussion referred to the impact of the Civil War in Southern Illinois. June posed for a picture with a Civil War rifle and commented that she never had to worry about being drafted during any war period since the rifles were taller than her.

Ed is reading to daycare kids. Ed is 101 years old and the children are 4 years old, so 97 years of wisdom is being passed down or as Ed says “ 4 years is being passed up”. Ed feels he always learns new things from the kids. #SeniorLiving
