How do you handle skill checks when multiple people are trying to bash down the same door at the same time, especially if it is a particularly difficult door to break? Does each individual just give it a strength check in turn, or can they cumulatively bash the door together? If the latter, how do you handle this, mechanically?

+James MacGeorge Heavy Metal put a book out a couple of years back, I think that it was called Chaos. Kind of disappointing I thought, the art lacked the classic Druillet detail.

So what happens after the funnel?
Dungeon Crawl Classics has definitely left a mark on the hobby, and I have no doubt that Mutant Crawl Classics will do the same.

Crazy, intriguing peek into the Paris catacombs and their dwellers. The possibilities for an investigative scenario are endless. Or, perhaps you need some inspiration on how your local thieve's guild operates? Or an urban, post-apocalyptic setting?

Did you know there's a library inside the catacombs of Paris? It's not the kind of library that requires you to check out your books at the front desk or have them back by a certain time. This library and its modest but carefully curated collection of books wait in perpetual darkness f

Sharing this at Brett's encouragement. But don't just go there for my little adventure - there's oodles of gaming goodness there! This is one of the best sales RPGNOW has all year, so stock up!

Yes, the PDF edition of Beyond the Silver Scream is also part of the on-sale goodness that is "Christmas in July" at RPGnow. However, I have asked that the Metal Edition remain at its full price, as $1 of each sale of the M.E. has gone and will continue to go to covering printing costs for Gongfarmer's Almanac!

I know not everyone does podcasts so we are looking at having an influence over dozens of minds. :-) Just Kidding. I am pleased with the book count and I know the DCC/MCC community is the best at spreading the love. Which is our goal too.

Rules and Questions about them  -

Has anyone ever tried an equivalent to the Sanity mechanic of Call of Cthulhu in LotFP? Results of lost sanity can be mimicked, to some extent, using the results of the Confusion or Chaos spell, but is there an uncomplicated way to mechanically represent a character going through the process of "losing it"?

And if there are great resources on the mechanical effects of full-on insanity in OSR type games, please, do tell! I like the CoC tableau, but would like something that ports over easily for LotFP.

I haven't, but whenever I think about Sanity in D&D, I go back to the Call of Cthulhu book for D&D 3e. It bolts on the Call of Cthulhu SAN system by using Wisdom in place of POW, so your starting Sanity is your Wisdom x5. It also gives sanity ratings for everything in the Monster Manual, so between that and Call of Cthulhu, you could probably assign a sanity rating on the fly to anything you encounter.

Yeah, I did it - just bought tickets to see Planet of the Apes - the original Heston, 1968 version - ON THE BIG SCREEN!!!

Something I couldn't have done in my lifetime (I was born a year after the movie came out).

I am way more pumped about this than I ought to be!

In case you've been living under a rock, this is the best thing since the Great Destruction! Only FIVE days left! Please tell your friends and foes - we want them all to be playing this game when it comes out!

The felinoid is out of the bag! Our next MCC stretch goal is a digest-sized booklet called The Data Orb — an entire booklet of sage advice on how to survive the terrors of Terra A.D., written specifically for the system by none other than TSR veteran Tim Kask! The Data Orb will be a free PDF for most backers and has been added to the print block pledge levels along with the adventures. This booklet is both a great read AND a useable in-game artifact for the PCs!
Hi everyone,Lots of topics today! What is the Data Orb?
