We took a look back at Social Media Examiner’s article predicting social media trends for 2013. Some we felt were dead on, others…not so much. What do you think will be big in 2014? http://bit.ly/1jncMSU

Prediction: 2013 Will Be the Year of Visual Marketing

Yes! With the surging popularity of Vine, introduction of Instagram Video, Snapchat and others, it seemed like you couldn’t turn around without being asked to hit “play” on something. The shorter clips (6 second max on Vine, 15 for Instagram) and ease of recording did indeed make these snackable, and we saw a lot of brands take advantage of these platforms. We look forward to seeing people get even more creative with video in 2014.

We polled the Formium team last week and the question was: What's your brainstorming style? Got back some interesting answers:

-My #1 favorite place to brainstorm is the shower. #2 is to sleep on it. The best ideas come when I'm not thinking too hard.
-A lot of good thinking happens out of the office and a lot for me happens when I'm alone in nature.
-My style is a carefully crafted hybrid approach utilizing elements of dementia, verbal vomiting, and stand-up comedy while sitting.
-I have a whole brainstorming philosophy that looks like this: 1. Ask questions 2. Never settle for an okay idea 3. All ideas are worth a shot 4. Don't be attached to your ideas winning 5. Have fun 6. Take a birds eye view (gives you the greatest vantage point) and 7. Explore and be open minded, you never know where and when the next big idea is going to strike

Share YOUR #brainstormingstyle in the comments.

It's always good to be reminded to be extraordinary. Let's take a look back at our client Ahnu Footwear's amazing story about blind long-distance hiker Trevor Thomas, who hiked the Appalachian trail with just his dog and a backpack.
