Got to cross this place off my bookmarks a few weeks ago with a group of friends, coming in for a late 2:15pm brunch, and having to wait almost until 3pm to be seated. Finally seated, I ordered their crispy duck leg confit, and also got to try the pop tart and French toast that others at the table ordered. And, all in all, I wasn't too terribly impressed, with everything being pretty average, having had better versions of everything except the pop tart elsewhere. Now, if we were just rating based on food, I'd give Foreign Cinema 3 stars. But given the price of the food, I'd much rather spend my money on some tastier and more affordable brunch options elsewhere in the city. ***Accessibility Info*** Venue - Open and spacious, so accessibility isn't an issue. Bathroom - Accessible, though not the nicest (and in odd contrast with the rest of the venue).

We had a very enjoyable weekend brunch here. The courtyard setting is beautiful, super pleasant when the weather is nice. The menu is varied with many appealing options, and the food was great on the whole. The oysters we tried were excellent; the pop tarts were nice and based on good pastry. I had the poached eggs with duck leg confit and frisee salad which were very tasty. On the minus side now: my latte was OK - nice but nothing to write home about; my wife's mimosa was low on champagne; and service was slow and a bit random. Overall definitely worth a visit though.

Fantastic food for reasonable prices. Let's start out by saying that Foreign Cinema has a lot of hype. Tons, to be honest. However, some of that hype is warranted. The food is great and plentiful. The drinks are tasteful and delicious. We came here on a warm spring night on a Friday. I had a grapefruit radler, delicious for summer by the way, and my girlfriend had a serpent's kiss. Pro tip: the serpent's kiss is the favorite drink and the favorite entree among patrons is the fried chicken. I had the fried chicken, it came out with two large breasts and was fried to perfection. Highly recommend this place.

This place is very eclectic. It plays iconic movies in the outdoor porch area, serves wonderful drinks, food is inspiring as it is not just everyday faire you get at other places due to using local ingredients that inspire amazing dishes, and a great atmosphere. If you are wanting a neat and unique experience this is the place for you. If you want everyday food from oridarnary places that follow the same faire at many places that in reality dont stand out then please go to those places. I am proud to find a place that is the way this place is as many dont exist anymore. I would come here again and again. For the atmosphere and the changing menu. Thank you for doing the culinary world a service!!

This restaurant is a great representation of fresh, local, Californian style cuisine. The ingredients are always fresh and very tasty. I enjoy taking friends here when they visit SF. The concept of showing old movies on the walls is a great one.

We had a great dinner at the Foreign Cinema. The restaurant has a large bar with ample drinks, and a really nice wooden interior. The service was very friendly, though a little slow at times, because the place was packed and super loud. The menu is ample, though a little fish heavy for my taste. I had a steak which was delicious.

Ok food and inattentive service. Had waited over 20 minutes for a croque madame and simple egg dish only for our waitress to ask if we wanted dessert. Drinks were brought over by a different waiter, who initially gave them to the wrong table. With so many other brunch places to try, I'd pass on this one.

Counting a lucky two stars for terrible service, aspirational over the top dish pursuits, average and muddled mocked up cocktails. Fried breadcrumbs with your pasta anyone? lets hope another dining experience can help me return home less scarred and disillusioned.
