We salute the in-car CD player this #TBT. It was 1984 when Pioneer uh, well, pioneered in-dash CD audio when they debuted the CDX-1. CD’s allowed the user to skip track-by-track without having to fast forward or rewind those pesky old cassette tapes. Today however, you will have hard time finding a CD player in a new car as they have been replaced with USB ports and Bluetooth technology.

Strange Traffic Laws #123 & #124: In Marietta, Georgia it is illegal to spit from a car or bus. The good news is you can spit from your truck ... that's okay. And don’t you dare honk the horn of someone else’s car in University City, Missouri. It is illegal and also way too much work.

We hope you don’t find our #TBT crude as we head back to January 1901, when the first major oil discovery in the United States occurred in Beaumont, TX. On that date, the Spindletop gusher struck oil and marked the beginning of the American oil industry. Prices of petroleum-based fuels soon fell, and the combustion engine fueled by gasoline quickly became the power source of choice for the auto industry.

It's #TBT, and we travel to Saturn. Not the planet, the car company. It was January 1985 when Saturn Corporation was officially launched as an arm of GM. Saturn's selling point was its dedicated plant in Spring Hill, TN, the no haggle pricing, and low-pressure sales tactics at the dealerships. Saturn ceased production in 2009. Did you (or do you still) own a Saturn?
