Linda McMahon, former chief executive officer of World Wrestling Entertainment, was confirmed by the Senate on February 14, 2017, to lead the Small Business Administration (SBA).

It’s expected her work will revolve around growing jobs. Whether or not she’s able to body slam that task into submission, it is yet to be seen how the SBA, under her leadership, will attempt to achieve its pre-existing goals.

During "Auto Show" week the Association for Corporate Growth’s “Automotive Outlook” featured speakers included Michael Robinet, Managing Director, Automotive Advisory Solutions at IHS Markit (IHS), one of the most respected forecasters in the automotive industry, and Dave Andrea, Executive Vice President of Research for the Center for Automotive Research (CAR), one of the most respected researchers in the automotive industry. As expected with speakers of this caliber, the content was excellent.

Several themes emerged from the forecasts.

While it remains to be seen how aggressively the Trump administration will enforce the federal ban on marijuana, the fact that marijuana is now legal in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a matter of state law means that employers should evaluate and potentially adjust their policies and practices to address employee marijuana use.
