So this front-end conference with the amazing speaker line-up I'm sorta kinda involved in is featured on inventures.eu. Neat!
Are you a front-end developer? A UI/UX Designer? Or simply a web ninja? If you answered yes to any of those questions, get ready, set, go! Or book a flight – depending on your whereabouts - because the team that recently organised Kod.io is back in Linz and this time, you’re in for a treat.

"My dad is a dentist running his own practice. He employs a secretary, hygienist, and dental assistant. Under some sort of "DentOps" movement, my dad would be making appointments and cleaning people's teeth while trying to find time to drill cavities, perform root canals, etc."

How 'DevOps' is Killing the Developer - interesting article.

a) comparing apples with oranges.
b) having better qualified people (developers?) doing resource planning and roll outs might ever so slightly improve the overall quality.
c) even if the 'operations' people do not code for the main project, and the 'developers' do not perform the roll out, knowing and respecting each other and not building walls again (mostly out of pure elitism "I am a developer and there for on top of the pole") is a Good Thing™.

In this case, having a little bit of knowledge of the project respectively having a little bit of knowledge of the roll out constraints and planning is helping everyone.

Thinking that DevOps is about doing everything all the time only shows how little people understand things they apparently only know from hearsay.

"You make faces at the bug, and the bug makes faces at you..." I love Piotr's talks. All of them. But the one at linz.kod.io I love the mostest!

I attended the Ruby User Group Berlin April meetup (poah that's a mouthful...), here's what happened:
On Thursday we attended the Ruby User Group (RUG::B) April meetup at Kauferportal. With 3 normal talks and 5 lightning talks the program was pretty packed. Good thing I summarized it for you: Migrating databases like a Pro! Hans Hasselberg, responsible for Ops at 6wunderkinder, talked about migrating databases. And not just your usual db/migrate, …

Introduction
After working as a community manager for over 5 years I missed ‘making stuff’. I started learning Rails and Ruby in August last year and am now confident with CSS, JavaScript and Rails. Nowadays I organize Rails Girls events (in Rotterdam in January, in The Hague September 2013 and Leiden February 2014). I co-founded vienna.rb, the Ruby user group in Vienna, PyLadies Vienna and the WordPress User Group meetups in Vienna.

I work at anynines – a 100% European Platform as a Service. I’m interested in anything that touches education, teaching programming to beginners, getting more women in tech and generally the startup sphere.
