"Call To Adventure" Journey Post 5 of 24
If you think a Call to Adventure was a one time event for when you were young, think again.
Answering a Call to Adventure is what keeps our lives authentic and knocks us out of our comfortable Ordinary World.
An adventure arrives in stealth mode. When it hits, you only know it because none of your former T-shirts from “Been There" and "Done That” are going to fit.
The facts are; you didn’t see it coming and you will not foresee how it will play out. This is what qualifies the situation as a Call To Adventure.
The old Ordinary Worlds are meant to be only a roadside rest in your journey not the final destination. ...

"Meet the Herald" Journey Post 4 of 24
A Herald comes with a message that challenges the hero.
On our Journey - we are itching for change from our Ordinary World. Who announces the coming change is a Herald.
A Herald comes with a message (an email, phone call or knock at the door) that challenges the hero.
As we grow in years and our lives become settled we can readily ignore calls that challenge us. Like Archie Bunker and his chair, we become set in our ways.

"Hero Life or Hero Moment" Journey Post 3 of 24
This particular post, to talk about a 'hero' in the journey, was challenging because the word 'hero' is soooo overused. Regardless, here is the opening to the Post 3:
"A Hero Life or Hero Moment"
The media story of a hero is usually an heroic moment. The moment makes for a great 30 second clip on TV. Except ...
The majority of us, especially as we get older, are not called to run into a burning building, shield a child from gunfire, or search enemy territory for a wounded soldier.
And even if we had that moment, it is only a speck within the millions of minutes we live.
So …

"Your Ordinary World" Journey Post 2 of 24
It’s your Ordinary World and you find yourself asking, “Who am I?” You know that a new job, another cruise or to remodel the house will only be a distraction, not the answer. You are living the life you wanted but your dissatisfaction is … palpable.

In the previous stages of your Ordinary World you answered the "Who am I?" question. Maybe you like the answer, maybe not. But don’t worry, you didn’t wear the question out. You can ask it again.

Journey Post 1 - "Once Upon a Time, Not Twice."
When it can finally be said, “Once …” now the story will be told.
… because ‘Once’ the lesson is learned, which is the purpose of the ensuing story, the hero never needs to learn it again.

The start of a blog about our Journey - Here is a brief segment:
Our life is a journey and we aren’t given a map.
If we are clever we can gather clues and make a map for the current stage we are living.
Two problems:
1. Life is so busy we are simply processing the ‘who, what and when’ with no time to integrate the information that could guide and improve the steps of our journey.
2. Even if we do see how to make a map, it only works for the stage we are living right now. After awhile the map is outdated and you have looped back to – no map.

Life's journey - When I was in jr. high I read an autobiography of someone who had survived the Holocaust. It was a turning point of understanding the world around me. This Tuesday, March 22nd - I will be giving a presentation on Golda Meir for a group of Holocaust Survivors. There is something beautifully poetic about it.
