July 12 Fishing Report (Montauk, NY): My Joyce IIIMontauk, NYWe had awesome fishing yesterday on both morning and afternoon trips. The morning trip for Sharron and friends saw a quick limit of bass to 40lbs. They kept only a few for the table and released the rest unharmed. The afternoon trip was insane fishing! We had a bunch of monsters for the Brude group. The highlight of the trip was a 53.2lb bass caught by Helen and Fran! But the best part about that was we were able to keep it alive and have it officially weighed in, and it was http://fishingstatus.com/home/details/indexId/1327001?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=gplus

Lake Texoma is in full summer striper fishing pattern: Capt Steve txfishingguide.com Lake Texoma is in full summer fishing pattern and for me that means trolling. You can catch some striper early in the morning before sunrise running close to the bank throwing top water or swim baits but once the sun starts to come up look for them schooling in open water — they won’t stay up long so better get them while it’s hot because once they go down they get a little tougher to track and catch. If trolling is not your thing you can still catch them on slabs and live bait out in the open water but, for me, trolling consistently puts bigger fish in the boat when the fish are schooled up and running fast. Boats really stack up on these fast moving schools of fish this time of year. Trollers don’t like bait fishermen sitting in the way and bait fishermen don’t like trollers passing so close but that’s Lake Texoma in the summer time and there is no sense fussing about it. Good Luck and stay safe. Capt. Steve Lake Texoma Striper Fishing Guide http://fishingstatus.com/home/details/indexId/1326681?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=gplus

Deschutes River - July 16th 2018 (Maupin, OR): Recorded:   88 ° F  Fishing: Fair Deschutes River Redside Trout & Summer Steelhead Report ———————————————————————————— Deschutes Red Side Trout Report: Fishing is pretty good, Mornings are fishing a little better. Mid day until about 5pm is a nymphing game. After about 6pm it will pick up. Fish those classic runs and riffles we all love to fish. Of course, if they’re not looking up, fish Nymphs and Wet flies in fast deep runs with lots of structor. You will need to add weight to get your flies deep enough to help your odds. PED’s are hatching from 5 to 7 pm. Very few BWO’s. They hatch between 9am and 1pm. Caddis is the most abundant, make certain you have some in sizes 16's to 20's. Keep a sharp eye cause they’re small and not always that easy to see. Check those little micro back eddies in the foam lines. They often accumulate in those small areas. Pattern suggestions: Lightening Bugs, 16’s, Rainbow Warriors, 16’s &18’s. Hares Ear Soft Hackle, 14’s & 16’s, Prince Nymphs, 10’s and 12’s, Sparkle Pupa’s, 14’s & 16’s, Soft Hackles, 14’s, CDC BH Pheasant tails, 14’s, & 16’s Double bead caddis, 14’s and 16’s. We will show you some other new patterns that have just arrived that we think will help change the minds of some of those stubborn red side trout. River level is 3,710 CFS and the water temperature is 59 degrees. I encourage you to click on “Monthly Hatch Chart” to see what you can expect during this month. Its also a great way to get a sneak preview of hatches in the months ahead. Please join and support the Deschutes River Alliance.
